The Women wing of sevakiran Charitable Society Celebrated international Women's day at Vivekananda Vidyalayam Campus.
During the current Pandemic situation posed by COVID-19 threat, we have moved ahead remarkably, focusing in the fields as follows and these activities are continuing.
The world is passing through the COVID-19 Pandemic, affecting human life in abundance. All nations are fighting for survival using all possible sources. The situation is limiting choices to “do or die” only.
We have been active in all domains of Social needs including catastrophic disasters and natural Calamities since the day of our inception in 2011.Nine years of tough field-level interventions, most of which being in Disaster forefronts, have gifted us with a perfect team of trained Volunteers, ever ready on call within no time to do their part.
On this Corona Outbreak also, we are doing our part, cleaning and sanitizing the public places, making and distributing masks, putting Hand Washing stations in relevant locations, making and distribution of handwashing lotions and hand sanitizers, distributing food and food materials to needy and supporting persons under home isolation in their identified unmet needs; keeping ourselves on the safe side till day. Our expert team has done enough back end preparations, drawing a comprehensive plan to support the persons involved in the fight against COVID. There needs a perfectly trained volunteer team to clean all public places, supply sanitation measures to the public and mind the service gaps to meet the needs of people of the bottom end, belonging to the unorganized sector.
We are expecting cooperation and support of all means from all..........
"To serve the poor, marginalized and unorganized sections of the society bringing harmony through promoting and strengthening them towards sustainable development "
" Integrated and sustainable society with humane values demonstrated through care; spreading the bliss of prosperity , empowerment and wisdom"

Khadi being the symbol of our legacy of freedom struggle, these families must be supported with top priority.

Sending victims back homes is not the end. It's in fact; the beginning. Our volunteers identified women and children; being desperate and stressed upon entering into their houses at the sight of destructed homes and loss of assets gathered with their lifetime. Children seemed to be gloomy on view of their bicycles and toys being lost in the flood. Reaching them back at homes and providing them psycho-social supports to accommodate with the situation and build resilience to strap their boots for another race to regain everything was identified essential in course of recovery plan.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Students and faculties of Marian Academy of Management Studies and Yeldo Mar Bbaselious College PG Department of Social work for setting a team of 55 volunteers including students and alumni for a period of one month to conduct psycho-social support and games for the victims to bring them back to normal state of well-being.

People started to move back to their houses and cleaning and sanitation supports were rendered by 200 volunteers, dividing into 10 teams. There existed a huge probability regarding the hygiene of drinking water sources and submerged houses though it were cleaned and disinfected several times before staying in these houses.
Combined with this; disturbed routine and non-balanced meals of camps and relief parties seemed to have affected the well-being of persons living with diabetics cancer, renal illness, heart diseases and bedridden patients. Many persons lost their disability aids in the flood also. In this view; we started campaigning for medical camps and the first camp was conducted on 23-08-2018 at thrikkariyoor.
By the meantime; SANSKAR PRATISHTAN, an NGO based in Pune sent their team to conduct medical camps for 3 days. We gratefully acknowledge their efforts and services to support the flood victims of aluva and Paravoor blocks of ernakulam district. We thankfully acknowledge the efforts taken by Sanskar pratishtan to send ophthalmologists in the team and supply spectacles to the needy free of cost after diagnosis.

Onam was very colorless and dull due to flood calamities in the entire State. when more than 10 lakhs of people remained helpless either in the relief camps or at homes; struggling to accommodate to the reality of losing all assets gathered with their lifetime and the entire businesses and trades affected heavily due to loss of stocks and business; it couldn't have been made any better.
Resilience is in the veins of all. What is needed is to kickstart it at the right time. All our officials and volunteers stayed back in relief camps and flood-affected locations on the day of Onam, dining with them, the food sent from the base camp and passing the message of love and solidarity to the flood-affected families. Together with this; cleaning of houses, wells and distribution of kits for those who return home were carried out simultaneously.
